Krakow is Poland's third largest city and
the cultural capital. The city boasts the best museums and
theaters in the country. It counts two Nobel Prize winners
in literature among its residents and it is also home to one
of the world's oldest and most distinguished universities.
This magical city, situated between the Jura uplands and the
Tatra Mountains, on the banks of the Wisla (Vistula) River,
in the southeast of the country, has one of the
best-preserved medieval city centres in Europe.
Beauty of the Renaissance arcades, Baroque spires,
enchanting onion domes, storybook streets, and Leonardo da
Vinci's sublime painting Cecilia Gallerani attracts hundreds
of thousands of visitors annually.
